Each type of genre of literature has different purposes, meanings, and way of writing them. Which is why it is important to understand each type of genre and the differences they have towards each other. The research paper was meant to give out unbiased information on a topic of my choosing while incorporating both sides of the research especially if the research topic is one of popular controversy. the rhetorical analysis paper was a genre where I strictly talked about the rhetorical devices used in the articles I chose, and not a summary or involve any of my personal feelings on the devices used or if they were used properly in my eyes.
One of the assignments we had this semester was to understand the essence of the rhetorical analysis paper since the professor noticed that most if not all of the students this year were simply doing summary’s of the articles rather than being perceptive and going into depth on the use and purpose of the rhetorical devices.
